Proud Home of ACPA Dance Company!
ACPA’s dance program implements a curriculum based on ballet fundamentals and jazz technique. Dance classes assist in the training of ballet, jazz, tap, and hip-hop offered as combination classes for students age 3 through adult. Instructors aid dancers in flexibility, strength, technique, style, musicality and performance. All classes will have the opportunity to participate in the annual dance recital held each spring at McComas Hall on Mississippi State University’s campus.
ACPA also has a competitive dance company, consisting of different groups based on age and ability. Students age 5 through 18 are eligible for ACPA’s competitive dance company. Core company classes include ballet, jazz, tap, hip-hop, lyrical, technique, and modern theater. The competitive dance company also attends 2-3 competitions every spring to showcase their talents in different genres of dance. Past competitions include Fire and Ice International Talent Competition, Starsystems National Talent Competition and Celebration Talent Competition. Company members also attend master classes and workshops like“The Pulse” throughout the year to further their dance training.
Company members also perform at local events, such as Distinguished Young Women of Starkville, the Cotton District Arts Festival and the Miss MSU Pageant as well as participate in ACPA’s annual dance recital.
